Exchange Held for HCM City Youth and Vietnamese Peacekeepers

The program was held on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the day Saigon-Gia Dinh City was officially honored with the name of President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2023).
The event aims to evoke the patriotism and national pride of the youth in the city named after Uncle Ho towards the image of the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and Vietnamese doctors in the international community. It depicts the role of Vietnamese youth in preserving world peace.
Within the framework of the program, many meaningful activities took place such as a photo exhibition on the activities of the Vietnamese Peacekeeping Force in South Sudan, the Vietnam Youth Federation in HCM City presenting Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 3 with gifts including 100 bags of seeds, 100 badges "I love my Fatherland," 5 Union flags and 100 Southern bandanas.
The sponsor accompanying the program gave 100 pairs of shoes to support disadvantaged youth and children in the Republic of South Sudan.

Meanwhile, the Vietnam Youth Federation in HCM City and Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 3 signed an agreement on cooperation in organizing regular exchanges and dialogues, making communications works, holding online exchanges on the Lunar New Year occasion, and supporting children of the peacekeepers in Vietnam.
At the program, the youth union members of Ho Chi Minh City had the opportunity to listen to the confessions and sharing of soldiers, doctors, and nurses during their time in the Republic of South Sudan.
Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Phuoc Tuong, administrative officer of Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 3 shared about his first year joining the peacekeeping force in South Sudan.
Before leaving for South Sudan in 2023, from May 2022, officers and soldiers of the force underwent a training course in military skills, science and technology, medical expertise, English, and especially soft skills to apply in practice as well as to communicate with the South Sudan people to carry out mass mobilization work.

Captain Nguyen Manh Hiep, a nurse of the air ambulance force who participated in the UN peacekeeping missions three times in the Republic of South Sudan, said that each officer and soldier of the Vietnamese peacekeeping force always remind themselves to promote the good traditions of the force in general and Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital particularly. They acted as ambassadors of peace and culture, bringing the image of the people and military of Vietnam to the world, he said.
Their stories confirmed the role of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the Vietnamese People's Army who participated in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
They contributed to the good implementation of the Party and State's foreign policy, raising Vietnam's position in the international arena, and enhancing the prestige and position of the Vietnam People's Army.
They also had unforgettable memories during the performance of their missions, and are messengers of peace in people-to-people diplomacy.
