This public art works (covering over two kilometers) has created opportunities for local young people to contribute positively to their local community and for both Australian and Vietnamese artists to put their creative talents on display, according to Bradley Kickett, the Australian indigenous artist who participated in the project.

Each painting have features of Australian and Vietnamese cultures, such as the images of the kangaroo, koala, and typical images of Dong Thap Province’s tourism, such as the lotus or the mandarin orchards. (Photos: Duong Ho Minh)

“The eye-catching and beautiful paintings are like putting a new coat on the village to welcome the new year,” a local said.

Starting from mid November 2017, the friendship mural village brings a new vitality to the Tan Tich neighborhood while still preserving the charm of its tight-knit community.
