International kite festival holds at Vietnam’s beach town

(VNF) - An international kite festival will return for the seventh year to Vietnam’s southern beach town of Vung Tau this December, local authorities have confirmed.

This year’s week-long festival, themed Dance of Peace, will take place on the beautiful beaches of Vung Tau City.

The festival will be held from December 6^th-12^th, with performances by around 60 foreign artists and 50 Vietnamese fliers, according to a statement from the National Administration of Tourism.

Artists from 25 countries and territories, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, the U.K. and the U.S. will take part in the competition along Vung Tau’s popular Bai Sau beach.

Artisans from Vietnam’s big kite clubs, including Phuong Hoang of HCM City and Dieu Hue of Hue, will also join the event.

The festival promises to bring the impressive and attractive kite performances for visitors.

In the framework of the festival, many persified activities will be held such as kite exhibition; the class of designing and making kite; kite performances; and competitions of Rokkaku kite, art kite, flute kite…

A food festival to promote traditional Vietnamese cuisine will be organized during the festival.

Performers of art troupes from the province and neighbouring provinces will present music and dance performances to entertain visitors./.
