Truong Sa soldiers

With the spirit of "The whole country for Truong Sa," over the years, Vietnam had many movements and practical actions towards the beloved Truong Sa (Spratly).

There are many noble deeds to support Truong Sa, so that the army and people of the island district can have a better life.

During the journey to visit the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago and the DKI rig, the members of Delegation No. 7 were always proud and admire the wisdom, strategic vision, and brave spirit of ancestors who established sovereignty, built, and protected the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Head of the People's Volunteer Committee, Duong Thanh Binh, said that our State had methodical and consistent policies on seas and islands, establishing and exercising sovereignty over Vietnam's Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.

Those policies are mapping, finding resources, measuring navigation, opening channels at islands and coral reefs, planting sovereignty steles, testing geography, climate and DKI rig system on the southern continental shelf of the country.

With the precious values that our predecessors left, we need to be responsible for preserving, developing, and continuing to fight to maintain our sovereignty to serve the interests of the nation and the country in accordance with international law.

Although life in Truong Sa island district is still hard, with difficulties, the soldiers and people are always united.

Overcoming hardships, material shortages, harsh climates, and geographical distances, the officers and soldiers of the Truong Sa archipelago today always successfully completed their training tasks and are ready to fight.

In addition to the training mission, the army and people of Truong Sa island district always do well in rescue work to help fishermen safely reach the sea, contributing to the image of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers".

When fishermen participate in fishing at sea, they are also standing side by side with the navy, contributing to protecting the country's sovereignty over sea and islands.

Love for national seas and islands

With many years of transporting delegations to visit the Spratly Islands and the DKI rig, officers such as Major Nguyen Ngoc Vien (Deputy Captain of Squadron 411, Brigade 955, Naval Region 4) is responsible for guiding the ship KN-390.

For Major Vien, the time at sea and on the ship is sometimes more than the time he spent with his family. When he was dispatched to the ship to support the missions, he was always ready to complete all assigned tasks.

“I also have nights when I miss home and miss my family," Major Nguyen Ngoc Vien said. "However, when going on a business trip, especially when on the voyages to Truong Sa, like this time with the 7th Delegation, me, the officers, and soldiers on the ship were respected by the members of the delegation. That is a great source of encouragement to help us have more motivation to keep trying and striving. I feel more proud of my work, more proud of the image of a navy soldier."

People should probably at least once go out to Truong Sa (Spratly), so that without reading a single page of books and newspapers about the love of the Fatherland, they will clearly define that great and deep love for themselves.

People will know that they will have to live and work in a way that is worthy of the sacrifices of the soldiers who are guarding the sea and homeland islands so that they can have a better and more peaceful life.

"I am proud to be able to go to Truong Sa to perform my duties, contributing to preserving and protecting the country's sovereignty over sea and islands," Duong Hoang Viet, a soldier in Truong Sa said. "I also miss home, but here, I feel that my life is more useful and meaningful".

Over the years, thanks to the leadership, direction, and efforts of the Party, State, Ministry of Defense, Navy, the compatriots nationwide and overseas Vietnamese towards Truong Sa, the material and spiritual life of the army and people on the archipelago has been much better.

The naval officers are still emotional at every moment when standing to salute the flag on the Spratly Islands. They are soldiers who can always overcome all hardships and dangers, devoting their whole lives to keeping peace at the border of the Fatherland.
