Italian Food Festival to return to Hanoi
(VNF) - At the Italian Food Festival 2016, foodies and wine lovers will have an opportunity to experience Italian delicacies crafted by Italian chefs on November 19th-20th at the West Lake Water Park, Hanoi.
“The event is a yearly appointment for the Italian community, and the growing number of those interested in all things Italian, to improve public awareness of the increasing relations and ties between Italy and Vietnam,” Italian Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni said.
“We want to introduce visitors to true Italian food and promote the values of cuisine we consider a part of the culture and heritage of each country,” he added.
The festival features two days of pure Italian food, wine, music, culture and entertainment experiences. Beside popular Italian dishes such as tiramisu, pizza and pasta, gourmands will be treated to special courses that are not widely available in Vietnam.
The large area of the water park (normally closed at that time of the year) offers an ideal venue for entertainment program including live music, lucky draws, cooking competitions and more activities.
All the facilities and staff of the water park are in an enclosed, safe and well equipped area, with a trained team, children playground and wide space for sponsor activities and vendor’s stalls.
The water park can be easily reached from any neighborhood in Hanoi, is connected through several bus stops and taxi stands in the surrounding area and offers wide parking spaces.

The project is part of a broader initiative promoted by the Italian Government worldwide - the “Week of Italian Gastronomy –Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel mondo”- and is set out along the footsteps of the past successful initiatives held, since 2001, by Italian restaurants and food companies in Hanoi to promote the authentic Italian cuisine, products and culture and to increase awareness over quality and safety.
During the week November 20th-25th, participating restaurants and shops will offer Italian style entertainment, culture and gastronomy, culminating in a fundraiser event “Italians do eat better” on November 26th at Casa Italia (No.18 Le Phung Hieu Str.) for the benefit of the victims of the earthquake that happened on August 24th in Italy.
Various events will be organised during the week, including film screenings at Casa Italia, a workshop on the Italian diet held at Hanoi University and a release of a book about cooking in the Italian style.
The Week of Italian Gastronomy is meant to engage Italian Embassies, chambers of commerce, cultural institutes, communities and businesses in a massive and strategic promotional campaign worldwide to celebrate Italian food excellence.
Tickets cost VND 50,000 (USD 2) for adults. Entrance for children will be free of charge./.
