On August 28 in Hanoi, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyen Phuong Nga awarded the Medal "For peace and friendship between nations" to Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov for his contribution to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Aiming for the interests of the two countries' people
Ambassador Yerlan Baizakhnov began his working term in Vietnam in March 2019. He enthusiastically participated in foreign affairs activities of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, implementing cultural diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy activities.
During the Ambassador's term, the Vietnamese people had more opportunities to understand more about the history, culture, and people of Kazakhstan.
Many literary and cinematographic works of Kazakhstan have been introduced to the Vietnamese people with Vietnamese translations.
The two sides had direct flights to each other instead of having to go through many connecting flights across countries.
This creates conditions for about 10,000 Kazakh tourists to visit Vietnam each year. Citizens of each country are also exempt from visas to enter, exit, transit, and temporarily reside in the other country's territory for no more than 30 days from the time of entry and no more than 90 days for each 180-day period.
"My father is a journalist. From a young age, in many books, newspapers and magazines of my father, I learned about the just war for national independence of the Vietnamese people, the country, the culture and the people of Vietnam. When I was appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam, I felt it was a magical fate." Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Vietnam Yerlan Baizhanov |

Friendly relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan
Speaking at the medal awarding ceremony, Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) President Nguyen Phuong Nga said the medal "For peace and friendship between nations" is the highest award of the organization.
The medal aims to recognize and honor Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov's valuable contributions in consolidating and promoting mutual understanding, friendship, exchange, and cooperation between the two peoples of Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
"Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov participated in the foreign affairs activities of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, implemented cultural diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, contributing to bringing the two peoples closer together," said President Nguyen Phuong Nga.
Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov expressed his honor to receive the medal of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations of Vietnam awarded by President Nguyen Phuong Nga.
The Ambassador said "During a recent official visit to Vietnam, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev affirmed that the friendly relations with Vietnam are of significant importance.
This is an important recognition, affirming that bilateral relations between the two countries are constantly developing and will become stronger over the course of history."
According to the Ambassador, the relationship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan still has much room for development.
In addition to economics and trade, there are many opportunities for cooperation in the fields of science, humanities, languages, psychology, education, information, and culture.
He affirmed that no matter what position he holds, he will continue to make contributions to consolidate and further develop the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
With the positive contributions of Ambassador Yerlan Baizhanov along with the two countries' effective implementation of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Free Trade Agreement, two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Kazakhstan has continuously grown, averaging about 28% per year. In 2022, bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached nearly US$600 million. In the first 6 months of 2023, bilateral trade turnover achieved positive results, reaching US$610 million. With this growth momentum, bilateral trade by the end of the year could reach US$1 billion. |
