Over his five-year tenure as the Country Director of Norwegian People's Aid (NPA), Jan Erik Støa has been proactive in initiating, implementing, and broadening mine clearance initiatives. In acknowledgment of his efforts, he was honored with the "For Peace and Friendship Among Nations" medal by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations in Hanoi on August 14.

In October 2022, Vietnam-Kazakhstan had a direct flight for the first time. People of the two countries only need 9 hours to fly instead of nearly 20 hours with many connecting flights like before. The success of the direct flight and achievements in people-to-people exchanges between the two countries were contributed by Yerlan Baizhanov, ambassador of Kazakhstan to Vietnam.

These close American friends regularly work with the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-US Society on measures to improve relations between the two countries and the two peoples.

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) awarded the "For peace and friendship among nations" medal to Caitlin Wiesen - Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam in Hanoi on August 24.

In her capacity as Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, Elsbeth Akkerman has made important contributions to fostering the friendship between the two countries and enhancing cooperation, earning the praise of Ambassasdor Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations ( VUFO).
