'Korean Cultural Road' Festival in Hanoi: The K-Wave Strengthens Viet - Korea Friendship

On April 16 - 17, the 'Korean Cultural Road' Festival in Hanoi was held in the Korean Embassy in Vietnam at Do Nhuan Street, Xuan Dinh Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi. .
The festival had brought Vietnamese people a taste of authentic Korean culture right in Hanoi capital with diverse cultural experience programs.
This is one of the joint activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and South Korea. The two sides took it as an opportunity to connect and further tighten cultural exchanges after two years of Covid-19 pandemic.
At the festival, visitors can try on Hanbok (Korean traditional clothes), learn about Korean tourism, experience Korean cuisine. For K-Pop Lovers the Festival in Hanoi prepared K-pop random dance, performance of K-pop songs pop through the voice of young Vietnamese artists ( K-pop Tan So Mhz) and also a Dancing and singing contest.
Korean Ambassador in Vietnam Park Noh-wan has high hopes for festival and the people of both countries, sating, “I hope that this festival will be a small gift to bring happiness to the Vietnamese people, especially those who have experienced many difficulties in their lives during the epidemic."
Over the last few decades, Vietnam and Korea have achieved many achievements in many fields such as politics, economy, culture, society, education.
Currently, there are about 200,000 Koreans living in Vietnam and 200,000 Vietnamese people living in Korea. Moreover, the two countries are also aiming to upgrade their relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the near future.

Vietnam - South Korea diplomatic relations
The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - South Korea diplomatic relations and the 32nd anniversary of South Korea starting to provide official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam. The last three decades has been an important milestone for the two countries because the cooperation has taken long strides and is now going from strength to strength. Vietnam is a priority partner of South Korea and makes up about 20% of the latter’s ODA support globally. In recent years, aid from South Korea for Vietnam totaled over a hundred million US dollars annually, mostly are ODA loans and the remaining in forms of non-refundable aid. Key fields in Vietnam – South Korea cooperations are transport and urban infrastructure; healthcare; education; green energy and IT, among others. In addition to ODA, South Korea is willing to provide preferential loans for Vietnam via financial cooperation mechanisms to fund large-scale infrastructure projects. |
