Attendees of the program included Uong Chu Luu, Former Member of the Party Central Committee, Former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, and Chairman of the Vietnam Peace Committee; Dong Huy Cuong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations; Tran Thi Phuong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations; and representatives from the Embassies of Laos, Palestine, Myanmar, the Republic of Korea, and others in Vietnam.
Speaking at the program, Tran Thi Phuong, Standing Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, expressed that the "Hanoi in My Heart" writing contest was organized to provide opportunities for international friends and Vietnamese people living abroad to express their feelings for the capital, Hanoi. This initiative aims to enhance understanding of the thousand-year-old city, and promote solidarity and friendship between Vietnamese people, especially Hanoians, and international friends.

After more than five months since the contest's launch, the Organizing Committee received nearly 200 entries in both Vietnamese and English from foreign friends and Vietnamese people abroad. Many contestants demonstrated a rich vocabulary and emotional, fluent use of the Vietnamese writing style, showcasing a special love for Hanoi as well as an understanding of the city's history, culture, and cuisine.
From the 50 entries that reached the final round, the Jury selected 21 outstanding entries for awards, including one Special Prize, two First Prizes, three Second Prizes, five Third Prizes, and ten Encouragement Prizes.
The Special Prize was awarded to Prof. Dr. Ahn Kyong Hwan, an Honorary Citizen of Hanoi from Korea, for his entry "Hanoi is the Golden Star in My Heart." The two First Prizes went to Mr. Saadi Salama, Head of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Vietnam, for his entry "Another Hanoi," and contestant Mei Leng from China for "Hanoi in My Heart."

Following the award ceremony, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations hosted the Peace and Friendship Melody Festival themed "Echoes of the City for Peace." This event provided a platform for non-professional artists from Friendship Associations and member organizations of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations to meet, exchange, and strengthen solidarity, further enhancing the Capital's people-to-people diplomacy. The performances celebrated Hanoi, Vietnam, and the friendship between the Vietnamese people and the people of various countries worldwide.
The Jury awarded one Special Prize, two First Prizes, three Second Prizes, five Third Prizes, and four Encouragement Prizes. The Special Prize went to the song and dance performance "Sacred and Glorious Hanoi" by the Sen Viet Art Club (UNESCO Association Hanoi). The two First Prizes were awarded to the choir performance "We Love Australia" by the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association of Hanoi and the Vietnam-Japan song and dance performance by the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of Hanoi.
