Lac Village has 5 Thai ethnics: Ha, Lo, Mac, and Loc. According to the head of Lac village - Ha Cong Tim, Lac village is over 700 years old. Previously, the professions of the local people were rice planting and weaving brocade. Later, the hidden beauty of Lac village is explored by tourists.
According to statistics, Lac Village currently has 125 households, with 73 households registered to operate homestay services. Recently, the number of domestic tourists coming to Lac village has continuously increased, bringing a lively atmosphere and increasing income for local people.

The local Thai ethnic group speaks the Thai language, dresses in traditional costumes, and lives in stilted houses. Rice cultivation and livestock culture are popularly practiced among locals for their daily income. Thai people are largely known in Vietnam for their friendliness and hospitality. They warmly welcome you to their village and are happy to share about their brocade weaving technique and distinctive cultures.
Lac village is a perfect blend of natural scenery, beautiful clouds, and forests embracing clusters of small villages with unique Thai stilt houses next to vast rice fields.
Visiting Lac Village, tourists will have a chance to stay in stilt houses to enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the village, tasting numerous ethnic minorities' specialties, such as sticky rice cooked in bamboo cylinders, bitter bamboo shoots, famous Can wine (wine drunk out of a jar through pipes) and more. At night, they will immerse in the Thai ethnic group’s traditional culture, joining traditional song and dance performances with friendly local people.

During the day, tourists can take part in healthy outdoor activities such as hiking with local guides or biking around the village or to surrounding neighborhoods in Mai Chau Valley such as Van, Pom Coong village, or Mai Hich village in Sam Khoe commune to admire the pristine landscapes and non-touristic villages in the region.
Lac village has long become a tourist village, right under the floor of the houses is used as a place to display and sell souvenirs and local agricultural products. Inside, there are looms to weave brocade, from only weaving scarves and brocade shirts to wear, to serve the needs of tourists, the women in the village have made many souvenirs with a variety of designs from brocade fabrics such as weaving towels, dresses, decorative wall fabrics, wristbands and bags, and stuffed animals.

Thai stilt houses are built on stilts 1.5m above the ground, having bamboo floors and roofs made from Goi or May leaves. Each house has a 2-story structure, the first floor for keeping livestock, and the second floor is the family’s living space.
