At the end of the third qualifying round of the Three-Cushion Carom Billiards World Cup in Las Vegas, all four Vietnamese players successfully earned 2 consecutive wins to advance to the final qualifying round.

The third qualifying round of the Billiards 3-Cushion Las Vegas World Cup consisted of 48 players, of which 32 top 200 players entered straight and 16 players won spots from the second qualifying round. A total of 48 players were divided into 16 tables, compete in a round robin, and choose the top 16 players advanced to the 4th qualifying round.

With a ranking in the top 200 in the world, Vietnam has three players including Truong Quang Hao, Chiem Hong Thai, and Bao Phuong Vinh, who entered the final qualifying round, and the player Dao Van Ly won a place in the second qualifying round. All four of the cueists played quite well with two wins in all matches.

After winning tickets from the second qualifying round, a player from Da Nang, Dao Van Ly continued to sublimate in Group O with an easy victory over Kevin Vasseur (France) and Maures Claus (Austria).

Thus, the final qualifying round of the tournament will be played on March 2, six players from Vietnam, including Truong Quang Hao, Dao Van Ly, Chiem Hong Thai, and Bao Phuong Vinh win the place. From the third round and two players in the top 50 in the world have entered, Do Nguyen Trung Hau (World No. 37), Nguyen Duc Anh Chien (World No. 21).

According to the draw results, we are not lucky when Do Nguyen Trung Hau and Truong Quang Hao are in the same group F with veteran player Dion Nelin from Denmark.

Meanwhile, Chiem Hoang Thai and Nguyen Duc Anh Chien are in Group G with the Dutchman Sorensen. Young player Bao Phuong Vinh is in Group H with Ceulemans of Belgium and Korea's Seo Chang-Hoon. Dao Van Ly is in Group K with two "heavyweight" players Forthomme, also of Belgium, and Garcia of Colombia.

Previous, on February 26, cueist Duong Quoc Hoang suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of his Polish player Wiktor Zielinski at the 10-ball semi-finals at the Las Vegas Open pool tournament.

Due to the loss, Hoang came in at a third place in the tournament and brought home USD 7,500. Despite suffering failure at the Las Vegas Open, Hoang still enjoyed a successful tournament as he defeated former world champions Ko Pin-yi and Shane van Boening consecutively to enter the semi-final stage.

Quoc Hoang, born in 1987, is the only Vietnamese player to be ranked among the world's top 100. He first made headlines at the Beijing Open in 2018 when he defeated Scottish star player Jayson Shaw 9-0.
