Made-in-Vietnam products to reach international markets
Vietnamese handicraft products include toys, gifts, and household items from eight Vietnamese handicraft exporters at the NY Now exhibition, New York, the US with the participation of about 950 businesses from 35 countries. These products are handcrafted from natural materials such as sedge, rattan, bamboo, wool, and ceramic, cited from VNA.

Le Ba Ngoc, General Secretary of the Vietnam Handicraft Exporter Association (Vietcraft) said that Vietnamese handicraft products have been available in 163 countries and territories. Export revenue from the products grew about 9.5% per year to about 2.2 billion USD recently, making the products one of the 10 product groups with highest export revenue of Vietnam.
According to Vietnamcraft's General Secretary, the US is the largest market of Vietnamese handicraft products, accounting for 35% of total export revenue.
Visiting the national booth of Vietnam at the exhibition, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN) in New York said that he hopes the Vietncraft will continue to work closely with Vietnamese representative agencies in the US to expand Vietnamese handicrafts' market share in the US, contributing to creating jobs and promoting sustainable rural development of Vietnam.
Vietnam first joined the biannual NY NOW exhibition in 2004 as part of a national trade promotion program held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Earlier this month, the Trade Office of the Embassy of Vietnam and ASEAN countries in Saudi Arabia in collaboration with the Lulu hypermarket chain to organize a week to promote Made-in-Vietnam agricultural products.

From August 3 to 9, 2022, the Trade Office of the Embassy of Vietnam and ASEAN countries including Brunei, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand in Saudi Arabia coordinated with Lulu supermarket chain to organize held a week to promote more than 100 new agricultural products from ASEAN countries named "Amazing ASEAN 2022 - Discover the flavors of Asia" in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
At the opening ceremony, the honored guests comprised of the Ambassadors of ASEAN countries, Ambassadors of Djibouti, Head of Diplomatic Corps in Riyadh and leaders of the Lulu hypermarket chain.

Over 60 types of product codes were introduced at the event, such as: fresh fruit, rice, cashew nuts, charcoal, garments, shoes, medical equipment, cosmetics.

Also at this event, the Vietnamese Embassy announced new products in 2022 in combination with promoting the country's image in terms of tourism and cuisine, introducing a list of export products, at the same time introducing relevant products and services. selected some Vietnamese flavors for visitors.
The Vietnamese exhibition booth welcomed many visitors and potential buisness partners. They praised the taste of Vietnamese products and look forward to having more Vietnamese products in the local market.
This is among the annual activities of ASEAN countries in Saudi Arabia to honor regional identity, to promote the culture, cuisine, products and goods of each ASEAN member country. This is also a good opportunity for connecting businesses, promoting exports from the ASEAN region to increasingly diverse and quality markets.
According to the Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia, the Saudi market has a great demand for good quality agricultural products and foods such as fresh fruits, dried fruits, rice, noodles, cashews, confectionery, spices, canned food, medical equipment. In the near future, the Embassy will coordinate with the Lulu supermarket chain to discuss ways to promote the export of Vietnamese goods.
