Manchester City is keen to come back to Vietnam in the near future, Commercial Director of City Football Marketing Omar Berrada said in a press briefing in Hanoi on July 30 following the team’s match against the Vietnam national football team.

Berrada said the Man City players were delighted by the enthusiasm and hospitality of local fans during their stay in Vietnam.

He also valued the efforts undertaken by the Vietnam Football Federation and relevant agencies to organise the match in a professional manner.

The match organisers said Man City’s tour of Vietnam had been successful and had inspired the Vietnamese footballers who were fortunate enough to play against the football stars.

The competition also brought Vietnam and its people closer to UK fans and international media outlets, they added.

In the friendly match on July 27, Man City won 8-1 against the Vietnam national football team.

The organisers donated 2 billion VND (about 93,000 USD) from ticket sales to the Vietnamese Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs’ fund to help national war veterans and fallen combatants’ families.

On the occasion, presents worth 80 million VND (3,700 USD) were given to underprivileged children at the SOS Children’s Village in Hanoi./.
