(VNF)- Hoi An International Food Festival will take place from March 20 with the participation of 12 international chefs showcasing their countries’culinary specialties made with herbs and ingredients from the ancient town of Vietnam.

(VNF) - Hoi An International Food Festival will take place from March 20 with the participation of 12 international chefs showcasing their countries’culinary specialties made with herbs and ingredients from the ancient town of Vietnam.

Chefs to participate in the event are from Germany, Mauritius, Sweden, Greece, India, Sri Lanka, the US, Malaysia, Russia, and Portugal.

The festival will be kicked-off by a cocktail session on the evening before the official-launch day. It will be concluded by a street party held on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street and an awards presentation ceremony at the An Hoi Sculpture Garden.

This will be the second time Hoi An International Food Festival is held, after the successful debut in 2016. The event is jointly organized by the Hoi An Culinary Events (HACE) and Hoi An City People’s Committee.

According to Keerthi Hapugasdeniya - international award-winning Sri Lankan chef, founder of HACE, the festival will offer visitors opportunity to taste cuisines from around the world in a festive atmosphere. He added by saying the chefs will begin their journey by visiting and buying ingredients in traditional market in Hoi An then come back to the restaurants in the city to cook. Vietnamese culinary arts is renowned for its use of fresh herbs. Chefs participating in the event are very happy to learn how to put all these exotic ingredients together, stated Keerthi.

The festival is scheduled to take place at the An Hoi Sculpture Garden on Hoi An’s Nguyen Phuc Chu Street every evening at 5pm, from March 20 to March 26./.
