On July 25, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka solemnly organized memorial service for Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, officials and employees of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka and the Vietnamese community lit incense. They spent a minute commemorating General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Vietnam in Osaka, emphasized the contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, who devoted his life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Nation. He received many noble medals, including the Gold Star Order.

Professor Shimizu Masaaki, teaching Vietnamese at Osaka University, wrote, “From Japan, we deeply mourn and express our condolences to the government and people of Vietnam for this enormous loss. During his time in office, the General Secretary made enormous contributions to the development of the Vietnamese people. In terms of Vietnam-Japan relations, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong left a deep impression on promoting the relationship to become a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023. We sent our deep respect and condolences to Vietnam and mourn the loss of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.”

On July 24, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka solemnly organized the memorial service and opened the condolence book for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Staff of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka and the Vietnamese community lit incense in remembrance and observed a minute of silence to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Leaders of areas in Fukuoka, diplomatic corps, friendship associations, Japanese organizations and individuals, Vietnamese associations, Vietnamese students, interns, and people in Fukuoka, came to burn incense and write in the condolence book to say goodbye to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

“On behalf of the people of Fukuoka, I sincerely express my condolences to the people of Vietnam upon the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Fukuoka was fortunate to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Friendship and Cooperation with Hanoi, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's hometown. Since then, the two localities have promoting exchanges at all levels. Fukuoka has supported Hanoi in many fields such as human resource training and technology transfer in waste treatment. I hope you will overcome this pain and build a more developed country together,” Governor of Fukuoka prefecture Hattori Seitaro.

Professor Shimizu Masaaki, teaching Vietnamese at Osaka University, wrote in the book.

“I would like to express my condolences for the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, and thank him for his contributions to the development of friendship between Fukuoka and Vietnam,” Akira Higuchi, Chairman of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly, wrote.

“I would like to express my condolences to the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Vietnamese people for this great loss. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's contributions to the outstanding development of Vietnam and the strong and sincere relationship between Vietnam and Thailand will always be remembered,” Kosol Satithamajit, Consul General of Thailand in Fukuoka, wrote.

“On behalf of the Party and government of the People's Republic of China, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Party, government, and people of Vietnam. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's death is a great loss for the Party, government, and people of Vietnam. I believe his legacy will be a solid foundation for future generations,” Consul General of China in Fukuoka wrote.

Friendship associations, Japanese organizations, and individuals came to burn incense and write in the condolence book.

“On behalf of the Association's members, I would like to send General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong the most sincere words of gratitude, and express condolences to the General Secretary's family and Vietnamese friends,” Hoshino Hiroshi, President of Kyushu – Vietnam Friendship Association wrote in the condolence book.
