According to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Latin America, during President Luong Cuong's official visit to Chile and Peru and his participation in the APEC Leaders’ Week in Peru, as well as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to Brazil for the G20 Summit and his visit to the Dominican Republic, major Mexican newspapers have extensively covered Vietnam's active role in multilateral mechanisms. These efforts have garnered widespread recognition and high appreciation from international friends and partners.

In an article titled “Vietnam's Proactive and Positive Participation in APEC”, Voces Del Periodista - a scholarly forum and the voice of Mexican journalists - emphasized that during its 26 years as an APEC member, Vietnam has twice successfully hosted APEC in 2006 and 2017. The publication noted that Vietnam is among the most active members in proposing initiatives and projects for APEC.

From the beginning of 2024, according to the bi-weekly edition of Voces Del Periodista released in late November, Vietnam has made significant contributions to APEC's cooperative processes. The country has implemented numerous initiatives and projects related to structural reforms, finance, science and technology, innovation, human resource development, tourism, agriculture, climate change response, and sustainable and inclusive growth. Vietnam currently leads the development of APEC's structural reform agenda for the 2026-2030 period and is spearheading the drafting of the 2025 APEC Economic Policy Report, earning high praise from many APEC members.

According to Mouris Salloum George, the President of the Mexican Journalists Association, during the 2024 APEC Leaders' Week held from November 12-16, the Vietnamese delegation effectively collaborated with other APEC members to contribute to the Joint Declaration of APEC Leaders and other significant conference documents. In various activities within the conference framework, President Lương Cường proposed several strategic and groundbreaking initiatives to enhance APEC's role and position in international economic cooperation and integration.

Meanwhile, under the headline “Vietnam’s International Integration Policy”, Regeneración - the official publication of Mexico’s ruling National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party - asserted that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s participation in the G20 Summit in Brazil from November 16-19 further underscored Vietnam's responsible contributions to addressing global challenges. The publication noted that the Prime Minister's trip aimed to strengthen and promote cooperation with partners across various fields.

According to Regeneración's November 17 edition, alongside President Luong Cuong's attendance at APEC in Peru and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's presence at the G20 in Brazil, the two top Vietnamese leaders also visited Latin American countries. This marked a significant step forward in transforming Vietnam-Latin America relations from traditional friendship to substantive partnership.

As highlighted by author Pedro Gellert, in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Mexico in 2025, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to meet with Mexico's new President Claudia Sheinbaum during the G20 Summit in Brazil. Sheinbaum, the first female president in North American history, officially assumed office in early October, making this meeting a notable milestone.
