On May 27, Vung Tau City (Vietnam) cooperated with Gunsan City (RoK) to organize a music show and photo exhibition at the Revolutionary Traditional House of Vung Tau City.
The event marks the one-year anniversary of the two cities signing a memorandum of understanding, establishing friendly relations.
Gunsan City is in North Jeolla Province (Jeon La Buk), the RoK. Gunsan has three sides surrounded by river and sea, and is a famous coastal tourist destination, having historical museums, galleries, monuments, and traditional temples.
Vung Tau City (Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province) also has many similarities with Gunsan City in terms of geographical location as well as development orientation. The two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation to establish friendly relations on August 26, 2022.
The two cities organized visits and promoted cultural exchange activities, cooperation in education, tourism, and urban construction planning.
These cultural exchange activities aim to strengthen solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vung Tau and Gunsan.
The two sides also wanted to promote the image of the country, people, cultures of different ethnic groups, potentials, and prospects for development. This contributed to promoting the international integration process of the two localities Vung Tau and Gunsan.
On show are 90 works by photographers from the two cities, helping visitors understand more about the culture, daily life, nature, tourism, festivals, and local people, introducing the unique cultural features of Vietnam and RoK.
Kim Bong Gon, director of Gunsan City's Department of Culture and Tourism, said the friendship and cooperation between the two cities have deepened through friendship visits and cultural activities.
Every year, Gunsan organizes about 120 art and culture performances, bringing together 2,000 performing artists with many different types of culture and art.
