The Consulate General of Vietnam in Cambodia’s Sihanoukville city on September 2nd met representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia to offer incenses and laid a wreath at the Monument to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Sihanuokville city on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Day.

Earlier, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Sihanuokville city had organized a celebration and a solemn reception to mark the 70th anniversary of National Day with the participation of the leaders of six provinces of Kampot, Kep, Koh Kong, Ta Keo, Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk.

At the ceremony, Vietnam’s Consul General to Sihanoukville Do Sy Kieu recalled the historical significance of September 2nd, 1945.

He appreciated and thanked the enthusiastic help of the people of Cambodia for Vietnam in the struggle for national liberation and the protection, development of the country as well as wished to continue to promote cooperation with administrations and people of the southwestern provinces of Cambodia.

On this occasion, the representatives of the provinces presented flowers and congratulated the Consul General of Vietnam in Sihanuokville and expressed their desire to continue to consolidate and strengthen the cooperation between the two countries on the basis of respecting sovereignty and build a common borderline for peace, friendship, cooperation and development./.
