Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao highlighted the significant potential of the Vietnamese expatriate community in Europe, comprising approximately one million individuals, alongside the active involvement of numerous associations, businesses, and cultural organizations. He described this community as a valuable asset for promoting Vietnamese cultural values and playing a key role in strengthening both bilateral and multilateral relations with European nations.

During the meeting, the Ambassador introduced the Project to organize the Conference 'Promoting the resources of the Vietnamese community to strengthen Vietnam-EU relations,' chaired by the Embassy of Vietnam in Belgium. Scheduled to take place from June 6 to 8, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium, the conference is expected to attract approximately 500 delegates, including representatives from ministries, sectors, localities, domestic businesses, and Vietnamese associations in Belgium.

The conference will focus on three key areas: trade and investment; science, technology, and innovation; and culture and tourism. This initiative aims to create a trade bridge and foster inter-sectoral and inter-regional cooperation between Vietnam and EU partners through the active involvement of the community. Additionally, it seeks to contribute to building a sustainable cooperation framework, particularly in the fields of culture and tourism.

Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Le Hai Binh, commended the initiative to organize the conference and expressed the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism's readiness to collaborate closely, offer professional support, and showcase distinctive cultural and artistic products. These efforts aim to promote the image of Vietnam and its people to the global community.
