In her speech, Vietnamese Ambassador Ho Dac Minh Nguyet reviewed Vietnam’s outstanding attainments since 1945 and highlighted the country’s aspiration for peaceful and sustainable development along with its willingness to join the international community in solving global issues.

She said Vietnam appreciates Slovakia’s assistance to its struggle for national independence and development, voicing her hope that the two countries will step up efforts to strengthen their time-honoured friendship and all-round cooperation.

The ceremony was also an opportunity for the Embassy to introduce some Vietnamese enterprises operating in East Europe such as the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and the information technology group FPT, helping the firms expand their presence in Slovakia.

Earlier, the Embassy and the Vietnamese community hosted various celebratory activities in Bratislava on August 30th and in Kosice city on September 5 like sports competitions, singing and dancing performances, commending students with high academic results, and cuisine festivals./.
