New Vietnamese Association Launched in Japan

The opening ceremony of the Association was attended by the Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka Vu Binh, the President and Vice President of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Kumamoto, representatives of provinces and cities, representatives of Vietnamese Associations in Kyushu provinces and businesses supporting the Association since its early days of operation.
Consul General Vu Binh appreciated the activities during the establishment of the Association in the past two years. He hopes the Association will have practical and meaningful activities to strengthen solidarity in the community, preserve the traditional cultural identity of the nation. The Association will also help introduce Vietnamese culture to the people of Kumamoto prefecture, contribute to the development of an extensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the region.

On this occasion, Consul General Vu Binh presented the Association with 2 sets of books, encouraging them to preserve Vietnamese language for children born here. He also wants the Association to organize teaching and learning Vietnamese, contributing to preserving and honoring the Vietnamese language in the community.
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Kumamoto, President Le Tram said: "We will try to build a united team to help Vietnamese people feel more secure when studying and living in Japan."
The Vietnamese Association in Kumamoto aims to build a united and strong Vietnamese community, with members helping and supporting each other in work and daily life.

The activities of the Vietnamese Association in Kumamoto in the near future include consulting on the legal and legitimate rights of Vietnamese people in Kumamoto, organizing events, volunteering, cultural, sports and tourism activities, conveying useful information to the community through the Association' pages.
They also coordinate with the Embassy, Consulate General and local government agencies to organize activities, establishing organizations under the Association to carry out the Association's principles, purposes and tasks, develop the Association's operating fund through fundraising activities in accordance with the provisions of Japanese law.
The association will also spread the image and culture of Vietnam to Japanese friends.
Representatives of Kumamoto all spoke highly of the contributions made by the Vietnamese community to the socio-economic development of the prefecture.
They vowed to continue building a friendly and safe living environment for the Vietnamese while expecting the Association to help share useful information among the community and bring Vietnamese people closer to each other.
Vietnamese people currently form the largest foreign community in Kumamoto with around 6,400. |
