Ho Chi Minh city will host many art and entertainment programs to ring in the New Year 2015, reported the Saigon Times.

In downtown HCMC, there will be a 15-minute fireworks display and a laser light show at the Bitexco Financial Tower, the city’s tallest building, on New Year’s Eve. More than 1,300 fireworks shipped from France will be set off from level 52 of the tower by France’s Ruggieri, which displayed fireworks at Burj Ai Arab (Tower of the Arabs) in Dubai. The Bitexco will be closed at 9:30 p.m. on December 31 in preparation for the fireworks and laser lights shows. The surrounding streets, including Ton That Dam, Ham Nghi, Ho Tung Mau, Hai Trieu, Ngo Duc Ke and part of Ton Duc Thang, will be off-limits to the public from 11 p.m. until 0:30 a.m.

Dam Sen Cultural Park in District 11 will hold a countdown party featuring DJ music, prior to a 15-minute fireworks display at Cuu Khuc Bridge in the park.

Visitors to the park can also admire 16 ice artworks themed “Vietnam nhin ra the gioi” (Vietnam looks towards the world) accompanied with world-known constructions created by a LED light system.

A gala music to ring in the New Year will take place at the September 23 Park in District 1 on New Year’s Eve.

People can visit 10 streets brightly lit in different themes around the city, including Truong Son, Nguyen Van Troi, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Le Duan, Ton Duc Thang, Vo Van Kiet and Ben Van Don.

Parents can take their children to watch a Circus Gala 2014 at Phuong Nam Theater at Gia Dinh Park on Hoang Minh Giam Street in HCMC’s Go Vap District at 7:30 p.m. from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4. The show features circus acts which have been rewarded at numerous international festivals.

The HCMC Museum of History at 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street in HCMC’s District 1 will organize water puppet shows and circus performances from Dec. 31 to Jan. 4.

A Silver Festival which takes place until Jan. 4 at the Crescent on Ton Dat Tien Street in District 7 is a place for people to take photos and experience a floating bar set up on the lake. A highlight of the festival is a countdown party featuring leading DJs and artists and special visual effects./.
