According to Liz Bell, this high-level engagement demonstrates a relationship between two trusted partners, thereby fostering business cooperation, economic growth, trade opportunities, and investment expansion.
Expressing optimism about the future prospects of bilateral relations, Liz Bell emphasized that New Zealand and Vietnam share many areas of collaboration, cooperation, and mutual growth promotion.
New Zealand is a leader in infrastructure and renewable energy, while also advancing new developments and services in the food and beverage sector. Additionally, New Zealand boasts a world-class education system and cutting-edge technological solutions. The Executive Director of the ASEAN-New Zealand Business Council expressed confidence that these areas, along with many other industries, present opportunities for deeper cooperation between the two countries.
Liz Bell highlighted the long-standing, strong historical ties between New Zealand and Vietnam, which have been demonstrated over the past 50 years through cooperative activities, economic linkages, and joint initiatives at both the governmental and business levels.
The ASEAN-New Zealand Business Council, particularly its members who specialize in Vietnam, believe that now is an ideal time to further develop bilateral relations and elevate the already strong connection between the two nations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Upgrading the relationship would create opportunities to further unlock both sides' potential and expand growth through shared commitments and tangible outcomes.
Furthermore, building on the achievements of the past 50 years, Liz Bell is confident that in the next five decades, both countries will experience significant and stable growth across Southeast Asia, with increased participation from New Zealand businesses in the ASEAN region.
