Speaking at the opening of the event on July 14, Mai Phuoc Dung, Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore, said that Vietnam - Singapore relations are constantly being cultivated, expanded, and consolidated, especially through people-to-people cultural exchanges during the past 50 years.

Culture is the foundation of society, a bridge to deepen mutual understanding and build friendship between peoples of different countries. The program of Vietnamese Cultural Days in Singapore will contribute to strengthening the friendship and artistic exchange between the two countries.

At the beginning of the program, the folk melodies of Vietnam and Singapore were performed through classical instruments such as piano, flute, and other instruments. The audience was immersed in a space filled with music through the amazing performances of artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The performances of ethnic musical instruments received a lot of applause, especially the duet between the piano and the traditional bamboo musical instruments of Vietnam.

As an audience member of the program, Jean Tan, Managing Director of Singapore International Foundation, said that the performances were very special and the artists were talented. They deserve more recognition from others.

The Ambassador highly appreciated and thanked Raffles College of Music for creating all favorable conditions for the concert to take place successfully. The Ambassador also especially thanked the lecturers and artists of the Vietnam National Academy of Music for their time and effort, not only for today’s opening performance but also for training many generations of Vietnamese talent, transforming the emotions of the public through music.

Sharing the same view, Jen from the Institute of Culture, Singapore's Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth shared: “The performances were amazing. I hope that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam will continue to introduce such musical performances to the world, especially show everyone the amazing ethnic musical instruments of your country.”

After the opening ceremony, the program "Vietnamese Cultural Days in Singapore" continued with many exciting activities. The highlight was the event that Bui Cong Duy and other artists continued to exchange academically and took master classes at Wolfgang Violin Studio, which attracted many Singaporean classical teachers and students.

According to director Chua Soo Pong, Chairman of the Academic and Examination Council of Raffles College of Music, Vietnamese Cultural Days in Singapore are an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries. He hopes this will be a catalyst to further promote cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore in the future.
