"Orange Your Dream" - Football Match for a Safe Future for Women and Children
On November 11, the "Orange Your Dream" football match was held at My Dinh National Stadium.
At the event, nearly 100 students from Ha Giang and Hanoi were guided by Coach Mai Duc Chung. |
In her remark, Caroline Nyamayemombe, Acting Head of UN Women Vietnam Office, said: "In recent years, sport has demonstrated its great ability to promote gender equality and empower women and girls." |
"Football, in particular, can connect the community, improve health, relieve pressure, and control violent behavior," said Nyamayemombe. |
Students also had the opportunity to chat with Vietnamese national female football players. |
The event responds to the United Nations' 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (November 25-December 10) and Vietnam's Action Month for Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response (November 15-December 15). |
The football match highlights the importance of sport in supporting diversity and equality and challenging harmful gender norms so that all individuals develop his/her full potential and realize his/her dreams. |
