Outgoing Hungarian Ambassador Honoured for 7-Year Dedication
Authorized by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son presented a Friendship Order to Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam Ory Csaba in recognition of the diplomat’s dedication to relations between the two countries on July 27, VNA reported.

Speaking at the handover, Son appreciated Csaba’s contributions over the last seven years to help develop the Vietnam - Hungary comprehensive partnership in an increasingly substantive and effective manner in all fields, from politics - diplomacy, economy - trade to development cooperation, culture, education, and health care.
Highlighting significant achievements in the bilateral ties, he noted the two countries have maintained frequent mutual visits and meetings at all levels.
The minister also lauded new strides in economic, trade, and investment links, asking both sides to further capitalize on advantages created by the EU - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to foster bilateral trade and economic recovery in each country.
The official took this occasion to thank the ambassador and the Hungarian Embassy for promoting the Hungarian Government’s donation and transfer of nearly 700,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine for Vietnam in the pandemic combat.
Addressing the presentation ceremony in Hanoi, Csaba expressed his honor to receive the Friendship Order.
He appreciated the support and cooperation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other ministries, sectors, and localities of Vietnam during his term.
The ambassador affirmed that he considers Vietnam as his second homeland and will continue working to contribute more to the comprehensive partnership between the two nations.
Previously, on July 21, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son had a reception and presented the medal "For the Cause of Education" to Ambassador Csaba, before the latter finished his 7-year working term in Vietnam to return home.
During his seven years working in Vietnam, from 2015 to 2022 as Ambassador, Csaba has made many contributions to Vietnam's education industry, promoting educational cooperation in particular, and relations. general cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary.

Specifically, he has proposed and directly negotiated to increase the current quota of Hungarian Government scholarships for Vietnamese candidates from 50 to 100 and from 100 to 200 at present. During the implementation of the scholarship program, the Ambassador always supports and creates maximum conditions for Vietnamese candidates to receive scholarships during the visa process as well as completing the travel procedures.
He also coordinated with the Vietnamese side to successfully organize the visits of high-ranking Vietnamese delegations to visit and work in Hungary. During these visits and working sessions, many educational cooperation activities were focused on promoting, and contributing to elevating the Vietnam - Hungary relations.
Moreover, Csaba actively supported and connected to organize bilateral educational cooperation activities between the two countries, including the Vietnam - Hungary Conference of Higher Education Rectors in 2019 during which 15 cooperation documents between the educational institutions were signed, marking an important milestone in higher education cooperation and opening up new opportunities, cooperation programs for Vietnamese and Hungarian higher education institutions.
In addition, the diplomat also participated in many bilateral cooperation activities between the Governments of Vietnam and Hungary and made great contributions.
“Investing in education and training is an investment in future generations, for the future of the country. Surely my successor will also continue in this direction so that the two countries' relationship in education and training continues to be further promoted," said Csaba.
