Overseas Vietnamese in Korea Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Friendship

Attending the signing ceremony were Nguyen Vu Tung, ambassador of Vietnam to Korea; Vu Duc Luong, chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Community in Korea (AVCK), and embassy officials.
Jeong Min Woo, head of KVFFA, and members of the unit attended the signing ceremony.
Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tung congratulated the cooperation between the two units on the goal of the friendship of the two countries. The Embassy will support and strengthen the upcoming activities of the two units.
According to Vu Duc Luong, the activities between the two organizations in 2022 will make an important contribution to the activities towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

Jeong Min Woo, head of KVFFA, expressed his pleasure to accompany the Association of Vietnamese Community in Korea in important and meaningful activities.
According to the signed content, the two units will coordinate to carry out activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Korea.
The activities were attended by leaders of the Government, ministries, central branches, the Embassy of Rok and the Vietnamese Embassy, and Korean international agencies and organizations in Vietnam and Korea.
The two units will cooperate in fields such as culture, art, beauty, and media (drama, film, documentary). There will be many events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations, content, and talent training for the Vietnamese community in South Korea.

The two sides will coordinate to carry out specific activities to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, between organizations of the AVCK and Korean mass organizations particularly.
The activities also enhance opportunities for investment, trade, and tourism cooperation between Vietnam's provinces and cities with Korean agencies and businesses. They introduce the beauty and potential, investment cooperation opportunities of Vietnam to agencies, organizations, and investors at home and abroad.
Vietnam - South Korea trade is about to reach US$80 billionAccording to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in 2021, Vietnam's export turnover to the Korean market has reached US$21.95 billion, up 14.8% over the previous year, accounting for 6.5% total export turnover of the country. With US$78.11 billion, currently, Korea is the third-largest trading partner of Vietnam. Regarding FDI, in 2021, Korea has become the second-largest direct investor in Vietnam with a total investment of US$7.4 billion, up 85% compared to 2020. Korea continues to be the second-largest donor of development aid to Vietnam with a commitment of US$1.5 billion in the 2016-2020 period. Currently, the Vietnamese community in South Korea is estimated at over 280,000 people and the Korean community in Vietnam is about 200,000 people. |
