Overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine expect bright future during newly elected president’s term

To date, the number of overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine is 10.000 people, included some granted the Ukrainian nationality that have a right to vote in every elections of this country.
According to Nguyen Hai Anh – Deputy Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Odessa, Ukraine – Vietnamese community in Ukraine pay attention to the presidential election because of their interest of politics as well as their living in this country. Most of people who have suffrage participated seriously to choose the president for Ukraine.
Anh also said that a part of Vietnamese community supported the current president for his achievements in his last half-term while other non-small part expected the new innovation for the more peaceful and stable Ukraine, repelling corruption and putting the conflict in Eastern Ukraine to an end.
The result of the Ukrainian presidential election have not influenced the life of both Vietnamese community and Ukrainian people, because the actions’ plan of the newly elected president Zelensky is not definite. They await the explicit strategies of Zelensky.
Vladimir Zelensky defeated the current president Petro Poroshenko in the race of Ukrainian presidential position, with 73% vote in April 22.
