At Lao Cai Parish, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the respectful greetings, kind regards, and best wishes for Christmas 2024 from the Party and State leaders to priests, religious figures, and Catholic communities nationwide, particularly in Lao Cai Province.
Speaking at Coc Leu Church, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Party and State always respect and ensure human rights, including freedom of religion, belief, and non-belief for all citizens. The government also facilitates religious organizations and believers to operate in accordance with the Constitution and the law. He emphasized that during challenging times, the spirit of national solidarity is further affirmed and heightened to address arising issues effectively.

The Prime Minister noted that Vietnam-Vatican relations have seen positive and continued progress in recent years, serving as a significant foundation and driving force for Catholics to uphold the motto "Love God, Love Country."
He expressed hope that Catholics would continue living by the principle "A good Catholic is also a good citizen" and the motto "Live the Gospel in the heart of the nation to serve the happiness of the people." He also urged local authorities to create favorable conditions for everyone to enjoy a peaceful and joyful Christmas while providing timely support for those in need.
On December 22, in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh extended Christmas and New Year 2025 greetings to the Hanoi Archdiocese, the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (Northern region), and the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed hope that clergy would continue to make positive contributions to the Church, the community, and the country's development. He shared his joy over the improved living standards of believers and acknowledged the contributions of Catholic and Protestant communities to strengthening the national solidarity bloc.
On the same day, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien visited the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City and extended greetings to Archbishop Nguyen Nang, Chairman of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam and Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, along with priests, religious figures, and the Catholic community.

He praised the contributions of the Catholic Church to building national solidarity. The delegation also visited and congratulated Knight of the Grand Cross Le Duc Thinh, the first Asian to receive the title from the Vatican, on the occasion of Christmas 2024.
