People-to-people Exchanges Attract Indian Investment in Hanoi

Hanoi's many resources and opportunities attract Indian investors.

"Hanoi hopes people-to-people exchanges can act as a bridge to attract strong investment flows from investors in India's strong fields such as processing and manufacturing technology; information and communications technology; energy, high-tech agriculture, innovation, and infrastructure development."

The statement was made by Nguyen Nam Hai, Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations at the meeting with the delegation from the Indian Society for Cultural Co-operation and Friendship (ISCUF) on July 7 in Hanoi. The ISCUF delegation has 17 members led by Mohanty Bijay, its Vice President. They are on a visit to Vietnam from July 6-10.

According to Nguyen Nam Hai, the local-level cooperation between Hanoi and India has been consolidated and enhanced in many fields, based on the good traditional relationship between the two countries. People-to-people exchanges with India have been promoted and strengthened.

In the coming time, Hanoi will be granted the authority of Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park by the Ministry of Science and Technology. With the strength of Indian enterprises in the pharmaceutical industry, Hanoi called on India to invest in Hoa Lac hi-tech park.

Hanoi also wishes to promote and expand collaboration with India in areas such as forming a project to connect relics, history, and culture between the capitals and cities of the two countries, to contribute to promoting culture and tourism of the two sides and researching and promoting the implementation of cultural and sports exchange activities between Hanoi and India.

The host expressed his gratitude for the valuable spiritual and material support of ISCUF and the Indian people during Vietnam's previous struggle for national liberation and the current cause of construction and development. He said that Hanoi wishes to continue promoting and developing the friendship between the two countries and between the two capitals to a new height.

Speaking at the meeting, ISCUF Vice President Mohanty Bijay expressed his impression of Vietnam's development. He said that the people of India always love the people of Vietnam. This visit helps the members of the delegation better understand the country and people of Vietnam, and the people of Hanoi.

"Seeing your country develop, we want to strengthen the friendship of the two peoples," said Mohanty Bijay.

Emphasizing the similarity between India and Vietnam, ISCUF delegates proposed many measures to strengthen solidarity, friendship, and people-to-people cooperation between the two countries. Including agricultural cooperation, coordinating in translating Indian cultural publications into Vietnamese, and publishing Vietnamese literary and academic publications in India.
