Photo exhibit on Vietnam, United Nations ties opens in New York

A photo exhibition meant to celebrate the relationship between Vietnam and the United Nations (UN) is ongoing at the organization’s headquarters in New York City, the United States, until this weekend.

A photo exhibition meant to celebrate the relationship between Vietnam and the United Nations (UN) is running at the organization’s headquarters in New York City, the United States.

The event, themed “Vietnam-United Nations: Partnership for a sustainable future, is running from July 8th to 12th.

It was jointly organized by the Vietnamese delegation at the UN and UN organizations in Vietnam.

The exhibition was put on to celebrate the collaboration between Vietnam and the UN over the past nearly four decades.

The photos on display highlight the milestones in the relationship between Vietnam and the UN, which spans from the days when Vietnam received humanitarian aid, made an economic recovery and exhaustive reforms to when the country carried out its millennium development goals and aims for the current sustainable development goals.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Jan Eliasson, other high-ranking UN officials, and ambassadors from different countries in Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary-General Eliasson congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic accomplishments and highly appreciated the country’s contributions to the implementation of the UN common goals./.
