The annual event at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town's Dong Mo aims to promote the national solidarity spirit, and honor, preserve, and promote values of the cultural heritage of the country's 54 ethnic groups, contributing to raising public awareness of the importance of conserving and practicing culture, VNA reported.

It comes as part of the activities to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) (November 18, 1930-2023) and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).

Addressing the opening ceremony on November 23, the Secretary of the Party Central Committee and President of the VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien stressed solidarity is a valuable tradition in Vietnam.

He noted that the strength of the great national solidarity is one of the most important resources for the Party, people, and army to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully implementing the reform process towards prosperity, democracy, fairness, and civilization.

The solidarity-culture week featured art performance festivals, programs to enact festivals and cultural rituals, those to introduce traditional foods and costumes, and a photo exhibition.

On display were 160 works by 67 individuals, who are amateur and professional photographers, journalists, and researchers from across the country. The photos capture the typical culture of the groups regarding their traditions, religions, lifestyles, costumes, and festivals, among many other features. The exhibition can be attended virtually at http://ape.gov.vn.

Other activities introduced festivals and customs of the Nung people in Bac Kan province and the Muong people in Thanh Hoa province; a culture exchange festival of ethnic communities in the southwest, Central Highlands, and northwest regions; and a photo exhibition introducing cultural identities of the 54 ethnic groups.
