India to Host Next AI Summit

Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Modi called for investment in skilling and reskilling workers to prepare for an AI-driven future. Stressing the importance of inclusive governance, he underscored the need to ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence reach all, particularly nations in the Global South.

In a significant development, France confirmed that India would host the next AI summit after Modi expressed interest in taking the initiative forward. India has also assured France of its full support for AI-related projects.

Strengthening Economic Ties with France

Later, PM Modi spoke at the India-France CEOs Forum, urging businesses to explore opportunities in India’s growing economy. He highlighted India’s rapid advancements in manufacturing, infrastructure, and industrial production, emphasizing the country’s ambitious vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047.

Tech Disruption and India’s AI Push

The AI Action Summit took place amid global discussions on the rapid development of AI, particularly in response to China’s DeepSeektechnology. Indian IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnawreaffirmed India’s commitment to developing its own domestic AI model, signaling the country’s intent to become a key player in the field.

Modi-Macron Engagements and Historic Visit

PM Modi attended a dinner hosted by President Macron at the Élysée Palace, where he engaged with top tech executives and world leaders. His visit to France also includes a trip to the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille, where he will pay homage to the Indian soldiers who fought in World War I.

In a notable moment, Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Marseille for their role in aiding freedom fighter Veer Savarkar’s escape from British custody,acknowledging the city’s historical significance in India’s independence movement.

Visit to High-Tech Nuclear Research Site

Modi and Macron are also scheduled to visit Cadarache, the site of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a cutting-edge global project aimed at revolutionizing nuclear fusion energy. The visit highlights India’s collaboration in advanced scientific research and its commitment to clean energy initiatives.

PM Modi’s visit to France marks a significant step in strengthening India-France ties, particularly in AI, business, and technology. As India prepares to host the next AI Summit, the visit has further reinforced its position as a key player in the global technological and economic landscape.
