The department reported that dengue fever has been efficiently controlled. In Hanoi, the number of dengue infection cases has dropped by 80 per cent in the recent seven weeks, falling from 500 cases per day to 100 cases per day.

The decline was seen in all localities of Hanoi, including the two hot spots of Hoang Mai and Ha Dong districts.

The department advised that in the coming time, Hanoi and other localities should continue maintaining efforts against dengue fever, while continuing to enhance the capacity of the monitoring, warning and responding system to minimise the number of new infection cases protect people’s health.

The health sector warned the community to continue strengthening preventive measures against dengue fever by killing mosquitoes and larva, while working with authorities in preventive activities./.
