Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son shared the meaning and outstanding results of PM Chinh's visit.
Firstly, the FM said, the visit produced many important outcomes, including the release of a joint statement with eight major contents highlighting the progress of the Vietnam-RoK relationship since its upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2022, and specific measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics-diplomacy, trade, investment, science-technology, culture, tourism, labor, people-to-people exchange, and new collaboration areas.

Ministries, sectors, and businesses of the two countries have signed 40 cooperation documents in the fields of digital transformation, renewable energy, green transition, climate change, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises, cultural cooperation, and tourism.
Secondly, the working visit deepened political trust and consolidated good relationships between the high-level leaders of the two countries. The leaders affirmed their determination to implement high-level agreements, bringing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to develop substantively, effectively, and sustainably.
RoK leaders highlighted the similarities between the two countries in history and culture and supplementary characteristics in economy and human resources.
They affirmed that Vietnam is a priority in the implementation of RoK's foreign policies in the region, including the Indo-Pacific Strategy and the ASEAN-Korea Solidarity Initiative (KASI). Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam supports RoK's policies and development goals.

Thirdly, the working visit achieved many substantive results, especially in the field of economic, trade and investment cooperation, thereby contributing to the implementation of the contents of the Action Program of June 2023.
The two sides affirmed that economic cooperation is one of the most important pillars in cooperation between the two countries. They agreed to jointly implement specific measures to soon fulfill the goal of raising bilateral trade turnover to US$100 billion by 2025, and aiming for US$150 billion by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable manner.
RoK leaders affirmed that the RoK continues to consider Vietnam a strategic partner in development cooperation, pledging to support Vietnamese firms in enhancing their capacity to engage more deeply in the production and supply chains of Korean firms. The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in building stable core mineral supply chains.

Fourthly, through the visit, the two sides promoted cooperation in human resources, labor, culture and tourism. The two sides affirmed that labor cooperation brings benefits to both sides. Vietnamese workers in the RoK are hardworking,diligent, skilled, and creative. They are making important contributions to the socio-economic development of both countries. The RoK is committed to supporting Vietnam in training workers in the industrial sector, creating a favorable environment for Vietnamese workers to live and work in the RoK.
He noted that Vietnam and the RoK concurred to bolster cultural, tourism and education cooperation towards the target of five million people engaging in people-to-people exchange. The RoK will support Vietnam to launch a consulate general in Busan in 2024, and a Vietnamese cultural center in the RoK, while helping Vietnam strengthen the development of cultural industries. PM Chinh suggested that the RoK simplify visa procedures, and moving towards visa exemption for Vietnamese citizens.
Fifthly, the working visit opened up many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in a number of new fields such as innovation, high technology, renewable energy, digital transformation, green transition, climate change response, semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).
The RoK agreed to consider setting up mechanisms to discuss orientations and specific projects in semiconductor, AI and innovation human resources training, and pledged to provide US$30 million in four years for research and development projects, and the second phase of the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) project.
