Regarding the activities, Nguyen Viet Trieu, President of the Vietnamese Women's Union in Europe and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that with a strategic vision for the Vietnamese community abroad, the Party and State have always affirmed that "Vietnamese people abroad are an inseparable part and a resource of the Vietnamese ethnic community, an important factor contributing to strengthening cooperative and friendly relations between our country and other countries."

"Each overseas Vietnamese is an ambassador of culture,' carrying the responsibility of preserving national identity and promoting the good values ​​of Vietnam. Through cultural exchange and integration activities, the overseas Vietnamese community not only builds the image of a friendly and hospitable Vietnam but also contributes to enhancing Vietnam's position in the international arena," said Nguyen Viet Trieu.

In that spirit, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe and the Union of Vietnamese Women's Associations in Europe have been actively organizing activities to preserve traditional culture and connect the community, especially the younger generations born and raised abroad. The project "Preserving, Promoting and Promoting Vietnamese Culture in Europe" is expected to become a bridge connecting generations of Vietnamese people in Europe, promoting love for the homeland, national pride, and cultural integration.

"Vietnamese Tet in Me" is the first online contest of the project launched on December 15, 2024, aiming to preserve and promote the cultural identity within the Vietnamese community in Europe; connect generations of Vietnamese people abroad, especially the young generation, with their root; and promote the image of Vietnam to international friends, creating a close connection between the Vietnamese community in Europe.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Manh Dong, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, affirmed that developing Vietnamese culture and people is one of the particularly important contents in the country's development orientation in the new period. Therefore, Vietnamese people abroad, especially the young generations born abroad, are both beneficiaries and ambassadors in the work of preserving, promoting, and spreading Vietnamese culture abroad.

The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese highly appreciates the initiative of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Europe with the project "Preserving, Promoting and Promoting Vietnamese Culture in Europe" and the contest "Vietnamese Tet in Me" to spread Vietnamese culture to the world, inspiring the preservation of national culture for young generations born and raised abroad. This activity contributes to promoting the connection between the Vietnamese community abroad and the residents in the homeland.

Nguyen Manh Dong stated that one of the key tasks of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in the coming time is to comprehensively and more strongly implement the work of overseas Vietnamese, focusing on preserving culture and honoring the Vietnamese language, and strengthening information and propaganda efforts for overseas Vietnamese.

He expressed hope that the contest will attract a large number of participants and spread not only among overseas Vietnamese in Europe but also to areas with fewer Vietnamese people. Additionally, he hopes these contests can be replicated and continue to be held in many countries and regions around the world where Vietnamese communities live.

During the meeting with agency representatives, reporters discussed and shared information about the contest.

The contest "Vietnamese Tet in Me" is organized for Vietnamese people living, studying, and working in Europe. Participants can submit entries in the form of photos, drawings, video clips, or literary works to the email address tet@vietnameu.org. The contest runs until February 15, 2025, with a total expected prize value of EUR 12,000.
