(VNF) - On January 29^th, the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (Quang Nam Union) held a meeting to celebrate its 15^th anniversary (2003 – 2008). The event was attended by Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Le Van Thanh, representatives of provincial departments and Laos officials.

Through 15 years of establishment and development, the Quang Nam Union has carried out many people-to-people exchange activities, foreign non-governmental aid mobilization, contributing to the economic, cultural and social development of the province.

Since its inception, the Quang Nam Union has established partnerships with more than 30 organizations, welcoming nearly 2,000 professionals, researchers, students from over 20 countries and regions. The Union also sent 20 delegations to foreign countries to participate in training, exchanges, research and research in many fields. regions. Strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

As a bridge, over the past 15 years, the Quang Nam Union of Friendship Organizations has received dozens of projects and projects with many programs contributing to the development of many regions in the province such as: housing, prevention of natural disaster mitigation, climate change; clean water and environmental sanitation; sustainable livelihoods reduction; bicycling program, scholarships for poor studious students; supporting the poor, dioxin exposed, orphans ... with total value of over 100 billion VND.

A theme throughout the years is to preserve, cultivate and promote the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general, Quang Nam - Se Kong in private.
