Recreating Traditional Mid-Autumn Festival In Hanoi’s Old Quarter
Children and parents play folk games at the Old Quater as a part of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival cultural activities organized by the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi’s Old Quarter from September 22 to 29.

On September 22, the opening ceremony of the program takes place at Hanoi's Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center, which is located in Hoan Kiem district, Ha Noi. In the series of activities, organizers will recreate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival space at heritage sites in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Among the exciting activities, there will be an exhibition of photos and documents with the theme "Bringing back the old Mid-Autumn Festival," displaying nearly 80 documents and photo materials. This will help people learn more about the Mid-Autumn Festival rituals at the Royal Palace, the atmosphere filled with the sounds of drums, beautiful star lanterns, jade rabbits, and other gorgeous images of the past. It also introduces a fun Mid-Autumn Festival space for children through traditional toy products.

Alongside the exhibition, there will also be many cultural activities to promote the Mid-Autumn Festival at historical relics and cultural exchange centers in the Old Quarter.

On this occasion, Heritage House (87 Ma May Street) also recreates the Hanoi family space to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The Cultural and Arts Center (22 Hang Buom) will have a performance of Te Tieu Land Puppet (My Duc, Hanoi) at 8:00 p.m. on September 28. At Dong Lac Communal House (38 Hang Dao), there is a large space to arrange the Mid-Autumn Festival, with instructions on making traditional toys from the past and present.

At the Phung Hung mural street space, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi's Old Quarter organizes an interactive space with a variety of activities such as displaying the traditional products made by artisans and craftsmen from the local craft villages. Ancient mid-autumn lamp models restored by folk culture researcher Trinh Bach and artisan Nguyen Trong Binh will also be displayed at the site.

The Old Quarter Mid-Autumn Festival is held every year to honor the national cultural identity, contribute to the preservation of historical and cultural values of the Old Quarter of Hanoi, remind people of the national origin, and develop a common cultural space.
