The Vietnamese Association in Jeonnam- Gwangju, the Republic of Korea (RoK), coordinated with the office of education of the RoK’s Jeonnam province in organizing the Vietnam Day on June 2.

The program formed part of the 2024 Korea Global Education Fair from May 29 to June 2.
During the five-day event, the association set up two booths promoting Vietnamese culture, drawing the attention of visitors with conical hats, ethnic costumes, and various folk games.
Ambassador Vu Ho said the Vietnamese Embassy appreciated efforts by the association and organizers, saying the program helps to bring Vietnamese land and people closer to the East Asian nation.
He also thanked the Jeonnamn Office of Education for its support to the association in hosting the Vietnam Day.

Nguyen Thi Le Hoa, president of the association, said since its inception 13 years ago, the association has grown to be a reputable unit that has won the trust of Korean competent agencies.
Vietnam Day plays a significant role in enhancing understanding, solidarity, and friendship between the two nations, as well as their cooperation in education, culture, social affairs, and others, she continued.
The program featured special art performances staged by Vietnamese in the region, helping to promote the image of Vietnam to international friends.

The Korea Glocal Education Fair 2024 opened at Expo Ocean Park in Yeosu, some 320 kilometers south of Seoul. It was jointly organized by the Jeollanam-do Office of Education, the Ministry of Education, the South Jeolla provincial government, and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Office of Education.
The first-of-its-kind event hosted in Korea featured special lectures by world-renowned education leaders, conferences on future education, global future classrooms, future education exhibitions and festivals, and cultural and art exchanges, according to the organizers.
Cultural exchanges and festivals included busking by future artists, performances by student art clubs, a media art show, a flash mob based on an AI-composed song, a career talk concert with mentors, such as composer Kim Hyeong-seok and football coach Son Woong-jung, the Glocal Cultural Exchange Street run by countries from around the world, and global friendship projects.
