Starting from July 10th, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam is simplifying its visa procedures for Vietnamese travelers.

This policy welcomes the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations (December 22nd), reinforcing the strategic cooperation relationship and facilitating visa application.
Mr Lee Hyuk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, expressed his hope that the new policy would promote tourism cooperation among Korean travel agencies, the Hanoi-based Korean Tourism Organization, and other local units.

Statistics from the Hanoi-based Korean Tourism Organization showed that in May 2017 alone, as many as 25,000 Vietnamese traveled to the Republic of Korea, bringing the total number of Vietnamese visitors to the nation in the first five months of the year to 113,690, a 29.3% increase in compared to the same period last year.
Last year, Vietnam welcomed over 10 million foreign travelers, a 26% increase compared with the 2015 result, of which the Republic of Korea contributed nearly 1.55 million (a 37.8%)./.
