Children living in the remote far northern region of the country are at particular risk from acute respiratory infections in any winter season, and keeping them warm and dry in the coming months is crucial.

On November 30-31, a delegation of GNI distributed coats, blankets and rice worth USD 25,000 to 1,000 students in in Tan Bac và Yen Thanh communes.

In addition to helping address the urgent needs of children to have warm coats and blankets in cold winter, the humanitarian goods also contribute to spread love and care for children and their families in remote areas of Ha Giang.

According to GNI’s reprensentative, these clothes helped ensure their well-being when the weather was getting colder and relieve the hardships which local underprivileged households are struggling with.

The organisation has been active in Vietnam since 2005 focusing on such areas as child protection, education, health promotion, clean water and sanitation, livelihood development, networking, mobilisation and emergency relief./.
