Saigon Children's Charity receives Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit
Saigon Children’s Charity CIO (Saigonchildren) recently receives the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit for its 26 years of contributions to the development of Vietnam’s education.
Saigon Children’s Charity CIO received the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit.
Saigonchildren representative Alain Cany – Chair of Saigonchildren’s Board of Trustees received the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit granted by Secretariat Member of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son on Oct 19.
Founded in 1992, Saigonchildren has set up numerous specialized projects and programmes of community quality education development and especially education opportunities for disadvantaged children in Vietnam. Four core elements of Saigonchildren's works are: School Buidling, Child Scholarships and Development Support, Vocational Training, Special Education.
With the support from domestic and international donors and partners, Saigonchildren has facilitated 36,800 scholarships for disadvantaged children; 192 schools with 503 classes of all levels nation-wide, bringing education to 15,000 students in 13 provinces annually; vocational training courses; free English courses; job orientation and career support for children with interests.

Since 2009, Saigonchildren has launched the Special Education programme with 57 extensive projects for specialized schools, core staff and parents of disadvantaged children as a bridge to child skill development and integration.
Besides social support programmes, Saigonchildren also conducts charity events that connect and diffuse community values, promote community spirits and conjoin inpiduals and organizations, such as Saigon Summer Ball, Charity Cycle Adventure and Cyclo Challenge./.
