On November 5, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen met with Jaya Ratnam, Ambassador of Singapore to Vietnam.
Secretary Nguyen Van Nen remarked that Vietnam and Singapore share numerous similarities. The two countries' collaboration has yielded significant achievements over the past years, yet there is still ample room to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Nguyen Van Nen stated that Ho Chi Minh City is currently focusing on sustainable development, emphasizing digital, green, and energy transformations. Moreover, the city is keen on developing its human resources and is undertaking administrative reforms, which encompass public policy, smart city initiatives, and digitalization. Given Singapore's experience in these areas, Ho Chi Minh City is looking forward to Singapore's sharing and support, fostering a collaborative spirit for mutual development.
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam expressed high regard for the significant progress in the cooperative relationship between the two nations. He expressed his aspiration for Vietnam and Singapore to elevate their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by 2025. In terms of future collaboration, he suggested that Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore concentrate on sustainable development and innovation.
The Singaporean diplomat anticipated that the collaboration between Singapore and the Southern Key Economic Zone would reach new levels following the successful execution of the offshore renewable energy export project from Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to Singapore. Additionally, he conveyed his eagerness to partner with the Southern Key Economic Zone on food security initiatives.
