South Korean President to exchange with U23 team during his trip to Vietnam

(VNF) - South Korean President Moon Jae-in will meet Vietnam’s under 23 football team during his visit to Vietnam from March 22^nd-24^th. The visit is made at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

The South Korean President will visit the Vietnam Football Federation, head coach of Vietnamese U23 team, Park Hang-seo and members of the U23 team in Hanoi on March 22^nd.

Coached by South Korean Park, the Vietnamese team shocked the continent by finishing second at the AFC U23 Championship in China in January.

Moon extended a congratulatory message to Vietnam in a status published on his facebook on January 27^th, right after the final march: “The U23 team of Vietnam, under the guidance of Park Hang-seo coach, has become the first runner-up of the AFC Asia Champion. The image of the football players trying their utmost until the end of the second extratime under heavy snow symbolises genuine spirit of sport."

Furthermore, the South Korean President recalled the dedication of coach Park in the last three months, saying "he has worked hard to lead the U23 team of Vietnam to the pinnacle of Asian football”, which make the president and Korean people feel delighted with the result."

“I am happy to see Korea and Vietnam become closer friends. Congratulation to coach Park and the achievements of U23 VN,” he noted.

This will be Moon’s first official visit to Vietnam since he took office last May and his second visit to Vietnam after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in the central coastal city of Da Nang last November.

In other news, Vietnam’s national team will convene after the third round of the national premier league finishes on March 22^nd. Vietnam will face Jordan in the qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2019 on March 27^th./.
