At the ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) held online on July 16, ASEAN members emphasized that building the ASEAN Community successfully is a top priority of the bloc despite the challenges posed by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

A High-level Dialogue on Complementarities between the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was held on June 4. Vietnam, performing its roles as the ASEAN Chair in 2020 and a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
