Pope Francis strongly condemned on Sunday people who traveled abroad in order to escape coronavirus lockdowns, saying they needed to show greater awareness of the suffering of others.

Lockdowns have been implemented to keep citizens safe amid the Covid-19 crisis, but a number of states across the US have seen citizens protesting against the coronavirus lockdowns in place there, so why are people protesting against them in the US?
