Vietnam’s diplomatic sector overcame numerous challenges throughout 2020 to create, grasp and optimise new cooperation opportunities, thus contributing to the country’s progress towards development, stated Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

Vietnam DPM and FM Pham Binh Minh on May 22 held phone talks with his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney to discuss measures to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination between the two nations. Ireland spoke highly of Vietnam’s drastic and effective measures and its active role of the ASEAN Chair and UNSC non-permanent member in pushing back the COVID-19 pandemic.

Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio expressed his gratitude for the valuable assistance the Government and people of Vietnam have provided to the Government and people of Italy during the difficult period.
