National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has applauded India's efforts to promote its 'Act East' policy and deeply engage in ASEAN-led mechanisms, and thanked the South Asian nation for considering Vietnam a pillar in this policy.

India and Vietnam share a common long-term interest in maintaining peace, stability, and development in the Indo-Pacific region, said Indian lower house leader.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh had a meeting with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind in New Delhi on February 13, as part of her official visit to India from February 11 to 13.
