Senator Victor Oh, on behalf of the Senate of Canada and the Canada - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group, has presented Vietnamese Consul General in Vancouver Nguyen Quang Trung with an insignia for his contributions to strengthening relations between Vietnam and Canada.

Philip Fernandez from the Canada-Vietnam Friendship Society assessed that the April 30, 1975 victory was the beginning of Vietnam's successes and opened up Vietnam's proud results in many fields.
