In his eighties, Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan, an agricultural expert known as "Dr. Rice" is still working hard to bring wet rice cultivation techniques from Vietnam to Africa, helping the Africans overcome food shortages in a sustainable way. Sierra Leone is the first African country supported by the professor and his team.

The visit was made at the invitation of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (June 24, 1982-2022).

The First Lady of Sierra Leone showed up in a soft and flowing Ao Dai being very confident, shining, and affirming at the official meeting between the presidents of Vietnam and Sierra Leone.

Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio have agreed on orientations to boost cooperation between the two countries in the time to come.
